Many of us, including my age group, feel so bad that we didn’t know better or that we failed to see or act on issues of the day. It’s a little like having tickets for the front row of your favorite concert without being able to understand much of the event.
We are in a unique period of history similar to World War II, but worse (see my blog Ode to Millennials).
The universe has charged you, or drafted you, for many Herculean battles:
- Global warming
- Save the planet
- Bringing sanity to a polarized political world
- Forgiveness
- and more
Although some us have a ‘front row ticket,’ your “Rendezvous with Destiny,” is here NOW. The stage has been set. I can only applaud your performance from a front row seat; I can no longer sing or dance to your music. I know that the tasks at hand can be overwhelming, but there is an awesome positive side: we are living and performing in a period of Renaissance (think 14th to 17th century).
You get to be the main players, and stars, of the creation of the NEW WORLD. From a karmic point of view, it is the highest calling you could have: You will have to battle stupid; but you can’t call anyone ‘stupid’. You will have to battle greed; but you can’t call anyone ‘greedy’. You will have to battle ignorance, but you can’t call anyone ‘ignorant’.
You remind me of Arjuna, from the epic story of the Bhagavad Gita (chapter 2, vs 31-33):
“Considering your dharma, you should not vacillate. For a warrior, nothing is higher than a war against evil. The warrior confronted with such a war would be pleased. But if you do not participate in this battle against evil, you will incur sin, violating your dharma and your honor.”
May the Great Spirit be with you.
