In my book, NautiGurl, one of my characters regularly says,”follow the money”, a phrase popularized in the days of Watergate.
As to Trump, he’s a financial light-weight compared to the Bush Family machine. In addition, he has been delinquent as to building a good ground game. Thus, the big kids are said to have written off the presidency as a lost cause. So if you follow the money, where are the republican dollars flowing?
It’s going to the senate races!
Currently, the republicans hold a 54-46 advantage.
The Democrats are likely to pick up some seats, but will they gain 5’seats needed to control the senate?
So, why is this so important?
The senate controls the nominations for the Supreme Court. Republicans are assuming that they have already lost the Presidency. The court, after the death of conservative Justice Scalia, is now tied at 4-4 of conservatives vs liberal or moderates.
Does this mean that Trump doesn’t have a chance to win. Absolutely not. The tide in a political race can change overnight.
