Azim Khamisa founded this organization after his boy was killed by a wannabe gang member. He has devoted his life to helping challenged youth to become good citizens.

The Tariq Khamisa Foundation (TKF) is a San Diego nonprofit with the mission to educate and inspire children in the restorative principles of accountability, compassion, forgiveness, peacemaking, and support for safer schools and communities. TKF formed in 1995 after college student, Tariq Khamisa, was killed by a 14-year-old gang member. Through forgiveness, the two families came together to create an organization dedicated to providing proven programs that teach restorative strategies, peacemaking skills and instills hope in youth. Our middle-level education programs are designed to support students in grades 5 to 9.
